Hello family and friends!
I did not know I was getting a new companion. It was just a guess! They have a new training program and it is 2 transfers. It was sad to leave but I have learned that in order to grow you need lots of different companions.
Move calls came last Wednesday and... I MOVED!! I was not to surprised. Ever since starting to train Sister Koch I felt I would move after. I was there for three transfers which is a pretty long time. Everyone in my zone was already kicking me out anyway. We had zone conference last Tuesday and everyone like Sister Koch is ready to take over Shuang He. I feel the same way. I was/ am sad to leave that area but it was time to move.
Here I am in Tao Yuan!! I am in tao 2. It is s weird to only have one ward. I am loving it though. I guessed I was coming down here to Tao Yuan. tap Yuan is right under Taibei city and right above Hsin Chu. It is really weird to be out in the Country again but I love it!
My companion is Sister Jasperson who came on the same time as Sister Koch. I feel that God wants me to live my first three transfers over and over again. I have only been or been with young missionaries. I have been trained, broken, broke trained and now braking AGAIN! I was like I just relive this over and over and over again.
This past week has been full of so so many emotions. Despite in my mind I knew in my mind the move call was coming when it came it was very sobering for me and Sister Koch. She was like well that's sobering because before it is just a thought.
As I look back at the work in Shuang He I see how it is by the small and simple things people change.
I remember first getting there and thinking can I really make any change here. I can now see all the work has paid off.
The Shi family is one that in the beginning we visited once a week. The husband is a less active priesthood holder. We decided to only visit when he was at home. As we meet with him I could see him change. He is now starting to come to work every week and working towards going to the temple! I was so happy to see him the night before I leave. The gospel truly does change people for the better.
Sally is my Recent convert. It was super hard to leave her. We had dinner together n Thursday night. As we sat and talked I could just see the glow in her face. She was telling us all the things she is doing now. She now has a calling in the church. She is preparing to go to the temple to do baptisms for the dead.
Li JM has changed drastically. She is a recent convert that was really struggling when I first got there. We visited her on Thursday. When we got there she already had her scriptures out and she was like what scriptures are you going to share with me today. She also shared some scriptures with us. At the end she told us I live it when you give me assignments. We gave her an assignment.
We got to meet with some members to before I left and that was fun. The members there are so amazing. They really want to help us so much. It is really humbling.
Tao 2 is known as the land of qing ke's ( member dinner visits) They have a calendar that they pass around church every Sunday. The thing is these dinners are MASSIVE! They take us to these nice restaurants and stuff us to the brim.
We meet with a few investigators these past few days.
We meet with a Qiu XJ. She is a member referral. She is 17 years old. We met with her last night and taught the Restoration. It was such an awesome lesson the spirit was So strong! I am so excited to continue to work with her.
Zhao JM is also a new investigator that we have. She is a mom with 2 kids and she is an English teacher! She has been looking for a church these past 2 years! She has lots of good questions. We taught her the Restoration yesterday. Our Recent convert also joined us. We picked her because these two women's background is really similar. At the end the recent convert shared her story it was so touching! It is so nice to have the member want so badly to help!
We meet with these two girls from South Africa on Sunday. They are such GOLDEN investigators. They had AMAZING questions like why is baptism necessary, what about people who don't get baptized in this life, how do I know. We talked about how our purpose was not to debate but to help them know our message and then they themselves can decide. They both accepted baptism!! It was really weird to teach in English. I realized how bad my English was. I was talking with Chinese grammar but speaking in English. I was like this is awful.
To top this week off we also had General Conference this weekend! It was so GOOD!!!! All the talks were AMAZING! I was so happy to hear about how the members and missionaries should work together. It is so true. The missionaries can do the work BUT with the help of the members we have way more success and the new members stick longer.
That's a wrap for the week.
I know this church is true. I know that President Monson is ordained of God. I know the BOM is true!
I love you all!
